Now let’s get started about what to do if your iPhone restarts on its own.
Force restart your iPhone
It’s quite helpful to fix software buys just by force restarting your iPhone such as a frozen screen or when some apps keep crashing on your iPhone. But you can also try to force restart the iPhone when iPhone rebooting on its own. The process of force restarting the iPhone may vary on different devices. For example, if you use iPhone 11, 12 or iPhone X, you can try these instructions: Press and release the “up” volume button, then hold and release the volume down button, and finally hold down the side button until the apple logo shows.
Update iPhone system
iPhone updates contain some fixes for software issues or other kinds of phone problems. Updating the iPhone system is important to fix different kinds of bugs on your phone such as iPhone keeps restarting on its own. To update the iPhone system, just navigate to Settings and go to general>Software update. Next, please install the latest iPhone update if it is available.
Reset all settings
This is another solution you can try when your iPhone restarts on its own. Please note resetting all settings on your iPhone won’t delete any files or apps data on your iPhone. It will delete your wifi password and some other settings such as privacy settings. To reset all settings on your iPhone, find the setting from your phone’s home screen and then go to General>Reset> reset all settings. After doing so, please check whether your iPhone works properly now.
Enter safe mode
As said earlier, sometimes your iPhone may restart on its own when there are some unsafe apps causing the bugs. To check this, you can enter the safe mode on your iPhone. Just follow the steps below to enter safe mode on iPhone
- Switch off your iPhone
- When your iPhone is turned off, please just hold down the power button until it lights up.
- Next, please hold down the volume button when it lights up. Next, release the volume down button when the logo appears.
- You will enter the safe mode now when the iPhone iOS has booted.
After entering the safe mode, you can check any apps or documents that cause the issue and just remove them. To exit the safe mode, just restart your iPhone.
Put out the sim card
Although it is rare, yet sometimes your iPhone may keep restarting due to some network connection issues. So you can try to put out your sim card and then insert the sim card again and check whether the problem can be fixed.
Free up storage
If the storage space is very low on your iPhone, your device is perhaps likely to restart on it own. When this happens, what you can do is remove some unnecessary files on your iPhone such as apps, documents, images or videos and more. It is also a good option to move some files to cloud networks such as Google Drive or Dropbox. As with some photos or videos that consume large storage space, it is advisable to back up them to your computer. After removing some unwanted data, check again and see whether iPhone keeps restarting on its own.
Set up date and time manually on iPhone
Not sure why this is relating to iPhone restarting on its own but someone said this worked after manually setting up date and time on iOS. To do it, follow the steps below.
- Go to settings> general and select Date & time
- Now just select the set automatically but turn this option off.
- Next, click on the current time zone and select the right time zone.
