After the long wait, the iPhone 12 is finally here. No doubt, Apple made some people wonder if the iPhone 12 will still be released this year or if they would be pushing back the release date until 2021.  But anyway, the iPhone 12 was unveiled on the 13th of October 2020. In this review, we will be looking at some of the iPhone 12 review,  specification, fantastic features and also the downsides if there are any. iPhone 12 Features

The Design

The most noticeable change in the design of the iPhone 12 is the change in shape. With the iPhone 12, Apple has decided to go back in time to give us the classical iPhone 5 shape that many people loved. The good thing is that it now comes with a lot of up to date features.

IPhone users have confessed to missing the rectangular edges that made the iPhone be able to stand on its own. These sharp edges make the iPhone feel safe in the hands once again. Although the iPhone 11 and several older models looked classy and sophisticated in the hands, it always still felt non sturdy. The iPhone 12 is also slightly slimmer than the previous models iPhone had to offer.

The previous iPhones featured the gorilla glass from corning’s and although they survived high strength tests, the Gorilla class was never completely scratch resistant. So, with the iPhone 12, Corning’s is giving users’ improved toughness and drop protection; they are calling it a ceramic shield and they say the glass in the iPhone 12 is infused with Nano-ceramic crystals.

Truth is Nano crystals or Nano liquid has long being used as screen protectors by many screen protector companies.

Display

Like the iPhone 11, Apple decided to stick to the 6.1inches screen in the iPhone 12. One significant change in the display is the new O-LED display, which Apples says is able to bring every color to life, making the black in the display look even blacker. O-LED is better than the LCD used in many previous iPhone models; this is pretty obvious since you can’t find a single LCD TV in the market these days.

The iPhone 12 also sees that users enjoy a display with a 2532 x 1170-pixel and an increased PPI of 460.

Camera

I’m sure you all must have been expecting Apple to feature rear cameras with four lenses; well, they didn’t do that. However, Apple has been able to make some slight upgrades from the cameras on the iPhone 11. The iPhone 12 now allows you to use the night mode feature on both the 12MP wide and ultra-wide-angle lenses. There is also better autofocus for low light scenarios and the inclusion of the F/1.6 aperture. Once the sun starts to go down, the night mode feature will be able to notify you to hold your phone still for a few seconds before taking pictures.

This review will be completely incomplete if I do not mention that the iPhone 12 camera comes with complete HDR compatibility. The HDR on the iPhone 12 is the HDR 3, which is perfect for finding the perfect balance in bringing all your images to life and capturing details and colors in a way that has never been experienced on any other iPhone.

Overall the iPhone 12 rear cameras could capture scenes in more detail than has been seen in any iPhone, and with the front camera, Apple is giving users the 12MP sensors.

Video Mode

With the new IPhone 12, users will be able to record videos in 4K HDR. This processes your videos so that you can enjoy the best exposure.

Battery Life and Performance

The iPhone 12 features a lower battery capacity than the iPhone 11. However, this does not mean that the battery life of the iPhone 12 will be terrible. The iPhone 11 battery capacity is 3110mAh while that of the iPhone 12 stands at 2815mAh. Apple probably chose to lower the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 since it comes with the A14 Bionic chipset and probably to make the iPhone 12 lighter.

The A14 Bionic chip promises better performance. Apple must be willing to put a lot of their bet on this chip. The iPhone 12 also comes with 5G, which means a lot of battery life will be consumed faster.

When it comes to charging the iPhone 12, Apple has decided to exclude the power adapters from the box, with the aim of reducing the packaging size and also to reduce carbon emission from larger packs. Users will only get a USB-C to lightning cable and their iPhone 12; this means if you don’t own a USB C adapter before the iPhone 12 release, you might need to get one.

Another way of charging the iPhone 12 is by using a wireless charging pad. iPhone has the MagSafe at the back of the iPhone 12. MagSafe uses magnets to securely align your charging pad to the back of the iPhone 12. You don’t have to worry about aligning your wireless charger wrongly then coming back to find that your phone hasn’t been boosted by a single percent.

5G

5G is here, and the Apple iPhone 12 offers you exclusive access to the 5G technology as long as you are within a 5G range. The iPhone 12 comes with the 5mm wave and can switch down to LTE, where 5G is not available. With 5G you will be getting faster connection speed which means faster download speeds and the best streaming available.
