How to fix if the computer restarted unexpectedly

  1. Click on the Start menu on your computer screen and then type regedit
  2. When you enter the registry editor interface, select the Computer from the list of options and then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Setup/Status/ChildCompletion.
  3. Now just double-click on the Setup.exe and please change the value data from 1 to 3
  4. Tap on OK to save the setting and restart your computer

Disable the automatic restart

  4. Uncheck the option of Automatically restart under the system failure

Uninstall the latest Windows updates

If you just have the issue of the Computer restarted unexpectedly after installing the new windows updates, it is advisable to try uninstalling the latest Windows updates. For example, if you use windows 10, you can follow the steps below to uninstall windows 10 updates.

  1. Go to the Start menu and find the settings option
  2. Navigate to Update & security under the settings option
  3. Next, tap on View update history and find the option of Uninstall updates.

Conduct a system restore

You can take this solution a try if your computer restarted unexpectedly due to some newly installed drivers or systems that have some problems. Performing a system restore will let you restore a previous configuration.  

  1. Go to the Start menu from your computer screen and then type control panel
  2. Under the control panel, type Recovery in the search box at the right top corner and then navigate to recovery>open system restore
  3. Tap on Next and select the apps or drivers relating to system restore.
  4. Tap on Next and Finish respectively.

Hard issues

After trying these solutions, if the computer restarted unexpectedly loop still exists, then you had better take your computer to an official service center if the pc is still under warranty. There are perhaps some hardware failures causing the issue.
