Apple recently announced that it will allow its customers to repair their own iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices. The program will be initiated firstly in the United States in early 2022 and then it will subsequently be available for other countries. It is claimed that Apple customers can get authentic parts and repair tools & guides from Apple’s online store. In other words, the Apple customers will access to the repair parts, tools, and guides the same way how Apple’s thousands of authorized service centers can have access to. In 2022, Apple will have more than 5000 authorized service centers and 2800 independent repair technicians.

In the first phase, the self-service program will be available for repairs like cracked screens, battery and camera problems. Then some additional repairs will be available for the upcoming phases.

The customers should repair the repair guides carefully provided by Apple and then order for authentic parts and tools from Apple self-service repair online store. After the repair, if the customers return the used parts, they will receive credit for the next purchase.

It is important to note that the self-service program is intended for customers with repair knowledge and experience. Otherwise, you had better ask for help from the repair professionals if you do not have repair knowledge and experience. The devices may be damaged further if they are repaired improperly. Besides, the prices of the authentic parts are perhaps not cheap. In general, for the majority of customers, it is still a good idea to give the devices to the authorized Apple service center for repair.
