- Press F12 while starting your laptop. This also depends on the specific laptop you are using. If F12 does not work, please try DEL or F11/F2 keys on your keyboard.
- Under the BIOS setting, just select the option of POWER MANAGEMENT SETUP and press the Enter key.
- Choose the option Keyboard Power ON Function firstly and then press the PageDown key to find the option keyboard password. The default option here is the Power Key.
- Next, just set a password and press the Enter key. Please remember the password because you will use it to turn on laptop without power next time
- After entering a password, please go ahead to enter ESC and select SAVE & EXIT SETUP to save the setup.
Note: You can navigate to Integrated perioherals> Power on function> set a password under the CMOS setting.
How to start laptop without power button using advanced startup menu

- Navigate to Settings> Update &Security and then select the Recovery option in the left panel
- Now choose the Restart Now under the advanced startup
- Next, select the Troubleshoot option and Advanced options when the window pops up.
- Under the advanced options setting, please find the Power management and press the Enter key
- In this step, locate the option of Power on by keyboard and set a password to turn on laptop without power button.
- Remember to save the setup.
